William & Mary Tribe (4-6)

London replaces legend as William & Mary coach

(STATS) - A lot of people will be surprised to learn Mike London became William & Mary's 30th head football coach when he was hired by the Tribe on Monday.

The number probably seems impossible because London is replacing the legendary Jimmye Laycock, who guided William & Mary for the last 39 seasons.

The Tribe stayed with a highly experienced coach as the 58-year-old London, who was an assistant under Laycock from 1991-94, previously led the programs at Richmond, Virginia and, most recently, Howard. He has a 59-58 career record in 10 seasons, which includes a 2008 FCS national championship season at Richmond.
