Raptors hope Leonard can face Warriors

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Golden State Warriors get a second shot at revenge against an Eastern Conference power when they host the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

With Stephen Curry and Draymond Green out of the lineup, the Warriors battled the Raptors into overtime on the road 13 days ago before falling short 131-128.

In his first head-to-head with Golden State for Toronto after years of battling the Warriors in the West as a member of the San Antonio Spurs, Kawhi Leonard led the Raptors' charge with 37 points.

Celtics visit Wizards on 6-game run

WASHINGTON -- A pair of teams that played short-handed last time out meet when the Boston Celtics visit the Washington Wizards Wednesday night in search of their seventh straight win.

The Celtics (16-10) overcame a handful of absences and utilized their impressive depth to post a 113-100 win against the New Orleans Pelicans Monday night. Boston was without Kylie Irving, Gordon Hayward, Al Horford, Aron Baynes, and Guerschon Yabusele due to various ailments.

Antetokounmpo, Oladipo return to lineup

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers will both be at full strength Wednesday night when All-Stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Victor Oladipo return to the court.

Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee's star forward, sat out Monday's game with neck soreness. Coach Mike Budenholzer said he expects the Eastern Conference's leading scorer to start. Antetokounmpo averages 26.5 points.

Celtics to be shorthanded in Washington

WASHINGTON (AP) Al Horford will miss at least another few games for the Boston Celtics because of an injured left knee.

The Celtics were also without Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hayward for their game against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night because of illness.

Suns F Warren fined for comments to ref

NEW YORK (AP) Phoenix Suns forward T.J. Warren has been fined $15,000 by the NBA for directing inappropriate language toward an official following his ejection from a game.

The fine was handed down Wednesday by league discipline executive Kiki VanDeWeghe.

Vote on Suns arena renovation postponed

PHOENIX (AP) The City Council has postponed a vote on a proposed $230 million renovation of the Talking Stick Resort Arena that would keep the Suns in downtown Phoenix.

The council agreed unanimously Wednesday to postpone a decision until Jan. 23 so residents can attend five public meetings to be held around Phoenix to discuss the project.

Playoff teams to wear 'Earned' jerseys

MIAMI (AP) The Miami Heat earned the chance to wear fuchsia. And 15 other teams will soon be getting bonus uniforms as well.

The Heat unveiled their latest uniform Wednesday, part of the "Earned" collection that will be rolled out by the NBA and Nike as a perk for the 16 teams that made the playoffs last season. Miami's is "laser fuchsia," with white lettering and numbers, trimmed with a tiny bit of black and light blue.

Reserves spark Rockets past Blazers

HOUSTON (AP) The Houston Rockets' bench came to the rescue twice Tuesday night, and the second time made the difference.

James Harden had 29 points and seven Rockets scored in double-figures as Houston used a big second-half run and snapped a three-game losing streak with a 111-103 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Spurs win 3rd straight, Suns' skid at 10

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Bryn Forbes was happy to finally earn the first double-double of his basketball career, and even happier that it came in another San Antonio Spurs victory grounded in defense.

Forbes had a season-high 24 points and a career-best 11 rebounds as the Spurs beat the Phoenix Suns 111-86 on Tuesday night.

Cavaliers F Thompson could miss 1 month

CLEVELAND (AP) Tristan Thompson's strong season has stalled.

Cleveland's starting center could miss a month after spraining his left foot in Monday night's 108-92 loss at Milwaukee. Thompson has been playing at an All-Star level and has been one of the few bright spots for the struggling Cavaliers, who are 6-21 and already missing star forward Kevin Love.
